Why It Matters

Throughout Salinas and Pajaro Valley farmworker and low-income families face issues with overcrowding, dilapidated housing, landlord abuses and increasing rent. However, CCA is supporting our hardworking communities who are coming together to organize and ensure that they and their families have the opportunity to thrive.

What You Can Do With CCA

CCA cultivates farmworker leaders who empower their communities to create change. Our Viviendas program offers hands-on training so you can:

  • Form a tenant organization to defend your rights

    This depends on each case. This will be our last resort.

  • Do I have to pay to be in the Viviendas program?

    No, it is accessible to all.

  • What areas does CCA cover?

    Any city within Monterey County

  • Do I run a risk of getting evicted if I advocate?

    There is a risk. However, there is a process; reclaim your tenants rights.

  • What do I do if they don't return my deposit?

    There is a 21 day processing period. You can file a minor claim against the landlords. We can provide the tools needed.
